Terms & Conditions:
All prices quoted by Auto Keys Direct Ltd. (AKD) are strictly net and subject to alteration without prior notice. Goods will be invoiced at the prices ruling at the time of despatch. All prices quoted are exclusive of Value Added Tax and carriage charges.
Carriage is calculated according to weight and dimensions. Orders over £100.00 plus VAT are Carriage Paid (UK Mainland only excluding Scottish Highlands).
The vast majority of keys are cut on the premises and despatched same day by first class post. Large key orders may take slightly longer. Special order keys or keys ordered from a third party may be subject to extended delivery times. Upon delivery the purchaser shall examine the goods and thereafter be deemed to have accepted them for the purposes of the Sale of Goods Act 1979.
With very few exceptions, keys are cut individually to the customers’ requirements and as such are not stock items. We are therefore unable to accept the return for credit of keys that have been incorrectly ordered, or are surplus to requirements. This also applies where ambiguous information is given at the time of ordering. At our sole discretion we may exchange incorrectly ordered stock keys. For stock items, a handling charge of 10% will be levied on goods “not required” or “incorrectly ordered“ or due to duplication resulting from a “confirmation” order not being marked to that effect. Customer to bear the cost of returning goods and we will only accept the return of goods within 30 days of the delivery date.
AKD process a large volume of orders and cannot cross check every item we receive. Due to our fast turnaround, we prefer not to receive any confirmation orders. On the rare occasions that goods have not been received within seven days, customers should contact the sales office. Where confirmation orders are sent not suitably marked, duplicated orders must be paid for.
AKD accepts no liability for shortages, damage to or non-delivery of any goods unless notified in writing within seven days of the purchaser receiving, either the goods, a delivery note or an invoice, whichever is the earlier. If AKD agrees to pay compensation to the purchaser it is limited to the invoice price of the goods. AKD shall not in any circumstances be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising for any reason whatsoever.
Unless otherwise specified all accounts are payable within 30 days of invoice date. Interest will be payable to AKD at the rate of 2% per month on the balance remaining unpaid beyond the prescribed due date. Any costs incurred in the collection of overdue accounts will be passed on to the purchaser. AKD reserves the right to refuse or withdraw credit facilities without prior notice or explanation as to why such action has been taken. Should credit status not be met, payment is required prior to the despatch of goods.
When we arrange to obtain keys or locks from a third party on behalf of a client, we cannot accept responsibility for delays in delivery to us from works and will have to charge for those items ordered. Many goods have to be put into production and manufacturing times can vary. Cancellation of such orders can only be accepted if received in writing within 3 days of the original order date. Locks ordered for a customer from works as a special order cannot be returned to us for credit and all special orders for high security and access control products must be confirmed to us in writing before we can process them.

- From the homepage, navigate to the login page at the top right hand of the screen.
- If you are an existing customer enter your email and password then click login (new customers will need to navigate to the sign up page.)
- Once on the sign up page, enter all details needed for payment and shipping. (If you have an existing telephone, email of fax account you can enter your account reference number, which is stated, on any Fast Keys invoice.) Click Sign Up.
- You will now be taken to the successful Sign Up page letting you know that the password has been emailed to your account.
- Once logged in you will be redirected to the homepage. At the top left there is a ‘Key Search’ box where you can enter the key number you have (which can be found on either the key or the lock face).
- The key will be automatically added to your shopping cart and you will be directed to your shopping basket.
- Confirm quantity and review your order.
- Click checkout.
- Review and check that all your invoice and delivery details are correct.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Click pay.
- You will be redirected to the Sage Pay website where you can enter your payment details securely.
At Auto Keys Direct there are several ways of ordering locks.
By Product Code
If you know the Fastkeys Part Number type it into the Product Search. If you know the Manufacturers Part Number for example, 5845 (Lowe and Fletcher pedestal lock), type the reference into the Product Search.
If you know the type of lock you need i.e. cam lock, cupboard lock, pedestal lock, you can search using the BY TYPE drop down menu on the locks page. You should then be able to visually identify the lock you need with the pictures displayed.
Filter By Manufacturer
If you know the name of the manufacturer, then you can search using the ‘Search by Manufacturer’ drop down menu on the locks page. This will narrow down the selection of locks and you should then be able to match a lock that you have with a picture on the website.
Filter By Key Series
If you have the number from an existing key or from the lock face then you may be able to identify the lock according to the key range. Enter the number into the key search where it says ‘Input Key Number’ and identify which key series relates to your lock. Navigate to the locks page and search under ‘Search by Key Series’ for the series you have identified. The search result will display all the locks that we stock with that key series.
Credit/Debit Card & Paypal
We accept all major credit and debit cards including American Express and also payments via Paypal. All our online transactions are dealt with by a third party payment gateway (sage pay), meaning that your card details are never viewed by us or anyone else.
If you are a business customer and would like to have the facility to pay by invoice or to be able to place an order by fax or email. Then please contact our accounts department on 01159 1111 11111 to see if this can be arranged.
To avoid delays your purchase order should include the following information:
- Purchase order number
- Invoice and delivery address
- Delivery contact information and telephone number
- Any delivery information you feel may be useful (for attention of, floor number, department etc.)
